Joanie Demer is the co-founder of The Krazy Coupon Lady, and co-author of the best-selling book, Pick Another Checkout Lane, Honey. Raised in a frugal family, Joanie realized early on that she wanted to find a way to reconcile tight budgets with the ability to buy the things she wanted. When her best friend — The Krazy Coupon Lady Co-founder Heather Wheeler — introduced her to couponing, Joanie found a mentally stimulating way to “hack the system” to be able to afford things her family needed and wanted.With KCL, Joanie has enjoyed sharing her love of problem-solving with millions of people through her passion for uncovering secret shopping tips and unexpected savings at grocery stores, retail chains and restaurants. She is a regular money-saving expert on Yahoo!, NBC and The Doctors with additional appearances on Today, Good Morning America and The View. When she’s not talking about money-saving nuts-and-bolts, she’s building relationships with brands looking to share their products and savings with the millions of women who read The Krazy Coupon Lady each month. She is proud that KCL is a growing company whose all-female executive team and majority-female staff is reflective of the audience demographics. Additionally, Joanie has a love for the work of the company’s nonprofit wing, The KCL Foundation, which uses money-saving techniques to provide household goods to the local refugee population. Joanie lives in Boise, Idaho, with her four children and two cats. In the rare event she gets spare time she enjoys eating tacos, watching musicals and playing the piano.
